Sharpsburg Rocks

I am passionalte about spreading kindness and understand its positive impact on mental health in our community. When I learned about an orphaned program called Sharpsburg Rocks seeking new leadership, I was thrilled to take it on! Sharpsburg Rocks aims to unite people through the creativity of rock painting, incorporating motivational and inspirational themes.

We host monthly painting events in collaboration with Roots of Faith Thursday Night Dinner Tables, where attendees and their families can unleash their inner artist by decorating rocks with acrylic paints. At the end of each event, participants add their rocks to the garden in Sharpsburg’s Curly Park, brightening the day of anyone who walks by.

We also encourage participants to spread joy by leaving their painted rocks in fun places for others to discover, embodying our slogan: “Spreading kindness in the community, one rock at a time”. I have also started an Instagram page to help spread the word. The back of each painted rock invites the finder to check us out on Instagram, encouraging them to send us photos with the rock we can post their findings. We are eager to form partnerships and expand our program with other groups that share our commitment to spreading kindness.
